A summer thunderstorm rolled in so fast I had to take refuge under a vacation rental alcove. There we'[re hundreds of lightning strikes. I was lucky enough to capture this one. If you look closely, it was striking at the airport.

This was captured on the middle fork of the American River during whitewater guide training in the Spring of 2010. The last good year there was enough water that the falls to the right of the Tunnel Chute rapid could take a boat. - Kaydin Carlsen -
